The
purpose of the Tallahassee Watercolor Society [TaWS] is to promote the fine
art of watercolor painting in Tallahassee and its surrounding communities in
Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. We foster interaction among artists in the
community and expose them to current exhibits, workshops, methods, materials and
paint-outs.
TaWS
has two juried exhibits each year, one open to all current and
new member artists in
Florida, Georgia, and Alabama who paint in a water based medium on paper, and the other is an exhibit for our current members
only. Our society sponsors workshops with well known watercolorists.
Exhibition space is made available in local businesses to TaWS members. Our
newsletter presents the accomplishments of members, current gallery
showings, and other educational news of interest to our artistic community.
We
welcome new members.
TaWS has monthly meetings from September
through May. Our meetings are social and informative with painting
demonstrations, slides, art-talks, and technical information to help the
artist. Tallahassee Watercolor Society
